The Lab
At Accurate Recycling, accuracy is built into our process. At our headquarters in Stoughton, Massachusetts, our in-house laboratory provides the foundation for precise analysis, transparent settlements, and consistent results.
Our commitment to transparency extends beyond internal testing. We openly share refiner assay results with our customers, providing visibility into the data used to determine the value of their material.
Every shipment is independently analyzed in our laboratory to establish a second data point alongside the refiner assay. This dual verification process allows us to identify discrepancies, validate results and maintain accountability throughout the settlement process.
By comparing our analysis with refiner results, we provide customers with greater confidence in the accuracy of their settlement. It is a disciplined, data-driven approach that puts transparency and verification at the center of every transaction.

Our Technology
Our laboratory is equipped advanced technology, including high resolution ED-XRF analysis systems capable of delivering precise, nondestructive parts per million measurements of platinum, palladium, rhodium, and other critical elements. Every analysis is performed under controlled conditions using calibrated equipment and standardized preparation methods to promote accuracy, consistency, and repeatability.
ED-XRF, or Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence, measures precious metal content without destroying or altering the sample. This allows us to analyze material in its existing condition while providing an independent data point for comparison with refiner results. The technology provides a precise analytical method that supports informed, data-driven settlements.
What This Means for You
Our laboratory provides customers with greater visibility into how their material is evaluated and how its value is determined. Every shipment is subject to a consistent analytical process, whether it contains catalytic converters, industrial catalysts, spark plugs, oxygen sensors, or other PGM-bearing materials.
By combining in-house analysis with independent refiner assays, we provide greater transparency and accountability throughout the settlement process. The result is a more informed, data-driven approach to precious metal recycling.
Our laboratory is more than a testing facility. It is an integral part of our commitment to accuracy, transparency, and responsible customer service.

Inside the verification process
Receiving & Sorting
Incoming material is logged, sorted, and prepared for sampling under controlled conditions.
Sampling & Preparation
Representative samples are collected and prepared using methods appropriate for the material being analyzed.
ED-XRF (PPM) Analysis
Our laboratory measures platinum, palladium, rhodium, and other relevant elements with high resolution parts per million analysis.
Refiner Assay Comparison
Our results are compared with the independent assay provided by the refiner for the same material.
Verification & Settlement
The results provide a second data point for verification before the settlement is finalized based on measured results.
